Hulett, WY, Ham & Jam

After Devil's Tower we stopped in Hullet, WY for their annual Ham & Jam, they give away 1000's of pounds of pig to the first 10,000 or so bikers that visit this burb of 400. It's amazing that 400 people can host so many people.

We left Hulett and headed towards Sturgis, but not until after we stopped in Aladdin, population of 15. You can currently purchase the whole town of Aladdin, post office, country store & 25 acres. I wasn't able to get the price, but Ilm sure it can be gotten for a deal.

Next stop was to Spearfish, not sure how big this town was, but they have fast food joints, so it must be decent sized. We stopped for a couple of drinks and headed back to Sturgis. Not a bad day, 179 miles and a whole bunch of small towns later..we called it a day.

The photos are from downtown Hulett.

Spearfish Canyon & a day of touring

After an off day yesterday, we headed towards Spearfish Canyon and some of the best riding in the Black Hills. We stopped at Spearfish Canyon lodge to rest the legs after riding in from Sturgis.  We then headed towards Belle Fourche, the geographic center of the United States. Don't blink you might miss it.

It was then off to the  Broken Spoke saloon, one of the larger  biker bars in Sturgis. This place is an adult playground, wall of death, pool bands and a bar that you can ride through. Does it get any better?

Why yes it does, we then stopped to check out the Full Throttle saloon to see what was happening. Wouldn't you know it, it was barmaid lingerie day. How luck are we?

Herels a couple pics of our events today. Ladies arrive tonight..should be fun!

Another good day of riding

We headed out to pick up Kris's bike in Rapid City and decided that we'd go take on Iron Mountain Rd, which is near Mt. Rushmore. Challening is the word of the day, it's full of hairpin turns, we all survived, but man is it a tough technical ride.

Her's a couple of pictures from last night's mayhem and one from downtown.

We are definitley going to take it easy tomorrow. Especially because we're off to see Thorogood at The Buffalo Chip tonight.

Stay tuned, it could be an interesting night.

Day One of a Lifetime

Good day except for when we went to pull the bikes out of the trailer. Mr. Kris's bike broke a bolt on one of the shocks. So, we headed towards Rapid City to get it repaired. About an hour of waiting and we were off with a rental headed towards Deadwood.  The pure volume of bikes here is amazing. It doesn't matter where you go there are tons of bikes. Bad economy nothing...people who own Harley's seem to find the cash to get here.

Deadwood is an old west town that time has forgotten. It looks just like it did in the late 1800's..but today it had hundreds of bikes parked on it's small streets.

We made a quick stop in Sturgis to check out the scene and headed back towards the campgroud for a Filet, asparagus & potato dinner. Who knows what tomorrow will bring....
