It's been too long since the last post , and it doesn't mean I haven't been riding. I've been riding, but nothing overly memorable to talk about, so why bore you with the normal stuff.
Plans are well underway to get to Sturgis. Some of the preparation that I've been doing includes:
1. 1000 mile check-up- the bike goes in this Fri. 7/10 to get an oil change, fluid change and overall once over. I figured that this was probably a good time to get this done, a couple weeks out from leaving, that way if there's an issue, I can get it resolved.
2. Power Pod- what the hell is a Power Pod you ask? It's basically a cigarette lighter for your bike. www.formotion.com We've decided that a GPS on the bike is probably a good idea. With the current technology only offering 4 hours of battery life, this was a must do. I'm anxiously awaiting the delivery of this so that I can see how well it works.
3. GPS holder- Jeff and I ordered a GPS holder from http://www.ram-mount.com/ so that we can have the GPS easily accessible on the handlebars.
4. Cooler- I ordered up a six pack cooler from www.polarbearcoolers.com for the back of the bike. I thought it might be a good idea to have some water, etc. when we're doing long rides in Sturgis.
The Message forum over at www.Sturgis.com is starting to come to life, so I've been checking it out to see what people are saying about the rally and trying to pick up hints and tips from past attendees. Just this morning I learned that KORN is coming to the www.fullthrottlesaloon.com on August 3rd. I'm sure Mr. Kris will want to see these bad boys!
Another posting told me about Monkey Rock. www.monkeyrock.us which is replacing Thunder Road. Now this looks like fun, check out the Entertainment schedule.
We'll be meeting soon to discuss the final plans, like when are we leaving, what is everyone bringing, etc....
Stay tuned
